A few weekends ago, Fr. Maurer was ordained. I have know Fr. Maurer (Jacob) for... hmm... about eleven years! He used to go to St. Olaf church, which is the church I grew up attending. I remember when he moved to Washington (from Hawaii), and started going to youth group with me.
I am proud to be able to say that I have known him for so long! In recent years, as I have placed a greater importance on my own faith, I have noticed a great sense of orthodoxy in Jacob. I can tell that he loves the Church and all her teachings. I know that he will be faithful in passing on the truth to all his future parishioners. How beautiful!
